I breed healthy, happy English & Irish CKC registered dogs able to do & love the work for which they were originally bred. Excellent temperment & health is of paramount importance. All are unique & wonderful companions.
Four Goldens share my home, Amblemere Desire, "DIANA," imported from England's Amblemere Kennel has excellent bloodlines.
Her son, Ch Ambleside Adam CGN RTD, "BLUE" & daughter, Ambleside Believe, aka "Eve" also share my home.
Ambleside is proud to present our newest member, Norsehaven Gentle Ben.Thank you Dominic! Ben's dam is from England's Camrose Kennel. His sire is from England's Remington Kennel.
So far Ben has proven fearless, very determined, extremely affectionate, brilliant at lessons, a natural retriever, and extremely vocal when he wants something he figures he deserves and is not getting. We look forward to this young fella's future in both Obedience and Confirmation.
Blue's younger brother, Ambleside Backus at Otterslide, "Backus", is co-owned & living with Susan Gow. He has won a best Golden Retriever pup at the 2009 Purina National, is short coupled, has a sweet and bidable temperment, is PRA clear (Optigen), clear CERF, and clear heart OFA. He'll be taken for hips and elbow xrays once he turns two years of age.
The In Memory Of ICON, has pictures & describes my North American bred Golden Retrievers, "AMOS," Domans Play Misty For Me, a wonderful, loving companion. "PEBBLES" Oriana Still Waters Run Deep was a joy to live with.
The dogs I breed pass a yearly CERF eye exam, are PRA clear, a Board Certified Heart Examination. and have passed both hips & elbows from one or more of the following organizations; OFA, PENHIPP, or the OVC.
Each pup has its own photo Gallery. Pictures are added when their families send them.
Expectations For Any Of My Re-Homed Pups
Golden Retrievers crave & need human company. They're family dogs, always happy to see & be with you. They love you, despite yourself. Goldens spend their lives trying to please & are happiest when they succeed. Every dog deserves life-long health care, affection, direction, & respect. Cute Golden Retriever pups grow up into medium sized, athletic, strong dogs. Both owners & pups need obedience training, especially the owners. Golden Retrievers require exercise, no matter the weather. They get wet &/or dirty when they play. They like to play, a lot. Goldens are handsome dogs, with lovely coats that shed. Shedding and Golden Retrievers go hand in hand. My CKC registered pups are re-homed on a CKC Non-Breeding Agreement. Every pup is temperment tested, has been dewormed, has a microchipped implanted for identification purposes, & will have had their first vaccinations. All pups are thoroughly vet examined & deemed healthy before they leave my care.
I want my pups to be re-homed only with families willing to make room in their lives for another family member. My pups are not yard dogs. I don't want to re-home my pups with families who'll 'need' to give up their dog because keeping them becomes inconvenient, family status changes, home relocation is necessary, etc.
I do recognize there are legitimate times when a pup/dog has to be given up. My separate Contract with the pup's new owner, stipulates that I take back any puppy or adult dog/bitch that can no longer be kept, whatever the reason. My prior permission is required before they are sold, re-homed, or given away, whatever the reason. I keep watch over any puppy I breed for the length of their life. I want continued contact with my pups' families & will be available for help or information. Re-homed pups &/or dogs living near me are welcome for any overnight or extended visits. My Background
I've been involved with Golden Retrievers for over 11 years. My first boy, "Amos," got me hooked on this breed. I take on-going Obedience training, have done Field Work, & currently show my dogs in Conformation. I take part in CKC Rally O Competitions and CKC Canine Good Neighbour Test. Recently, and what I am most proud of is, "Blue" got his Registered Theraphy Dog Title.
I belonged to the British Columbia Golden Retriever Club for several years. Now living in Kingston Ontario, I am a member of the Ottawa Valley Golden Retriever Club, a CKC member & hope to join the UKC shortly. My Kennel, AMBLESIDE, is CKC registered.
