Chilcotin Kennels |
Our property |
My husband Fred and I live on forty acres South East of Calgary, Alberta. We breed Standard Smooth Dachshunds under the Chilcotin prefix as well as Golden Retrievers. We also own one token Standard Wire Dachshund. Our Kennel facility is a 1500 sq. foot building with indoor-outdoor runs. The dogs enjoy exercising in a securely fenced one acre paddock. Two smaller paddocks adjoin this area. The entire kennel facility is fenced for safety. For the heartier of breeds, we also have covered indoor-outdoor runs which go into a building which is not heated. Dogs are never crated here at Chilcotin, and each has a large, roomy indoor run to sleep in at night. Only dogs currently competing at the shows are boarded at our facility. This gives all show dogs my undivided attention. In addition to showing dogs full time, I am the CKC Zone 10 (Alberta) representative for Junior Handling, am a member in good standing with the CKC, AKC, CPHA, GRCAmerica. For the past twenty one years I have wrote a monthly column for the National Dog Magazine, Canine Review. I am also the Vice President of the Canadian Professional Handlers Association. And now, let me introduce you to the dogs who have made my profession so enjoyable......
