Gallery for Brenne Vinsja Litter

Brottsjo , at 2 weeks , is already keeping an eye on me... You know I HAD to keep this boy.

This was the puppy I couldn't resist ... at birth he fell into my hand right from Brenne's womb, he nursed when I tried bottle feeding, and everytime I walked into the puppy room, his eyes were on me... He KNEW I was keeping him.
Brottsjo was my boy.

He was officially:

UACHX, UOCH , CAN OTCH, AKC/UKC CH LONGSHIPS ICEBREAKER UDX2, ASCA/SKC UD, TD, RAE MX, AXP, MXJ, OJP, NGC, HIC, TDI, CGC, OVCCX, OVNEX, VNEX-AOM, VCD2

Hi Mom! Brottsjo wants out. A little boy to boy talk...Brottsjo listens intently...

Of course, I took the most photos of Mr.Photogenic, Brottsjo... little did I know he would be my favorite photography subject for years...I must have a thousand photos of him.

Lissa and Adric Adric at 11 years

Lissa and Adric came to the 2006 Cincinatti NEAA National so we got to renew our friendships...
Adric and Brottsjo look amazingly alike and both had that sweet expression.... Adric is still as sweet and handsome as he was as a youngster.... they just get better with age...

Adric, nearly 14!

Adric only got more dignified and handsome with age...Just after this photo was taken he wandered off from the family cabin into wilderness of coyotes and bears...he was gone for 4 days and just when hope was fading showed up at a neighbors house , thinner and tired but coming home. What a tough guy.

Becky lives with Majorie Powey in New Mexico... she became a service dog for Majies mother who was elderly, blind and used a walker... Becky would pick up anything that was dropped.
Majie says she is such a nice dog and is wonderful with other dogs, especially all of the rescues and foster dogs that have passed through the household.

Our little "Shortcake" grew up... to be:

Longships Lighthouse Beacon ( Service Dog Excellent)

YOU DON'T HAVE TO EARN TITLES TO BE IMPORTANT!

Berserker meets moose Serker ready for obedience

The shining star of the litter is Berserker...who lives with Larry and Cindy Lovig and their three little boys Thorson, Hans and Brander in Minnesota..

He was the puppy with the Teal ribbon and we called him Little Thor or Tealie...he seemed very independent and liked to spend a lot of time alone.... who would think that he would have the future he did. But when he met Larry and Cindy, he seemed to know he was theirs right from the minute they laid eyes on each other.

Berserker wins Best of Breed Berserker Wins Class All Breed

Cindy finished Berserker's AKC Breed Championship in 1997 when he was two years old. He is her first champion!

He earned an AKC TD title with Larry handling.
He earned his Canine Good Citizen and registered with Therapy Dogs International and did pet therapy.

Larry showed him in obedience earning his AKC CD, CDX, and UD quickly . It was't long before they added the UDX with ease. He has earned a number of High in Trial awards. He is pictured winning first place in Open in an all breed show. It was exciting to earn Otch points winning over some of the top obedience dogs of the day!.
At last count, he had 15 UDX legs, 20 OTCH points and has been ranked year after year with Delaney and First and Foremost rating systems

and then I suggested they try agility to give Berserker a break..... oh boy... little did I know what was about to happen...........

Berserker going HIT at NEAM Berserker Master Agility Champion

Berserker jumped and jumped and jumped.....and climbed, tunneled and weaved his way into the history books.
He earned his Novice, Open and Excellent Titles, and then earned 20 Double Qs and 750 points to bedcome an AKC Master Agility Champion!

He was the FIRST ELKHOUND TO EARN AKC TITLES IN FOUR VENUES- CONFORMATION, OBEDIENCE, TRACKING AND AGILITY.

He was the NEAA TOP AGILITY DOG for 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 .
He was the 2000 NEAA TOP VERSATILITY DOG.

At this time 2007, Berserker is the FIRST AND ONLY MACH NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND!!

WHOOEE LONGSHIPS IS SOOOOOO PROUD OF OUR BERSERKER! THE HISTORY MAKING ELKHOUND...

Berserker in 1999 Berserkers MACH Pole

I photographed this head shot of Berserker in 1999, the day he won the OTCH Points in St . Louis... he seems to sense the excitement of the day.

Here are Thorson and Hans Lovig with their beloved Berserker and his signed MACH Agility pole. It is a tradition for the dog to receive the last pole they jumped when earning their Master Agility Championship~

Thorson and Berserker Thorson and Berserker Win!

After his MACH he got to run in Preferred Agility with Thorson who was only 6 I believe when he started. He earned the NAP, and NAJ ... they were a pretty neat team... I loved it when Berserker came out of a tunnel and waited while Thorson ran around it....;-) Heartwarming to see a dog do so well and take direction from a child.

Here are Thorson and Berserker in Kansas at the National Specialty.... first practicing and then with their FIRST PLACE ribbon in Novice Preferred Agility.
It was so wonderful to see them run! I was so glad to be there.... Berserker is a wonderful agility dog and Thorson is a talented little boy. They are just a natural together.

The Brothers at 11...Brottsjo smiling and Serious Berserker Berserker and his family

Berserker's last title was the Rally Novice Obedience title. The Lovig's added third son Brander to their family and a new puppy Freyja and Berserker was able to relax and look forward to retirement...but last fall he still was a contender and in the Veteran's Obedience class qualifying with nice scores at the NEAM specialty.

While at the NEAM Specialty last fall...we had these photos taken. First I wanted the two brothers...but Berserker simply wasnt happy away from his kids...
So then he had his photo taken ...from left to right ..Freyja, Thorson holding Brander, Berserker and Hans. Now EVERYONE is smiling!

Berserker at 12. He must be tired...

He deserves to rest after all he has done!

After all he is officially-

CH MACH LONGSHIPS SEALINE BERSERKER UDXTD, VCD2 , RN, AXP, OJP, CGC, TDI, O-VCCX, O-VNEX, VNEX-AOM

LONGSHIPS IS VERY PROUD OF OUR HISTORY MAKING STAR !!!

The Fantastic Five at 6 weeks

Reunion in Md

We took the puppies to the photographer to forever remember their sweet 6 week old faces...
In the first photo, the top row( L to R) on the wicker sofa  is Wendy, Becky and Adric with Berserker and Brottsjo on the floor. The photography studio  was Moto Photo and the photographer  did a wonderful job. For some time, this photo was up on the wall in a blown up version...
The second photo was taken in Maryland at the NEAA National where we had a family reunion! Seated from left to right is Adric, Becky (Vinsja and Brenne on the table) and then Brottjso sitting behind Berserker. Wendy was unable to come. We missed her , and this was a once in a lifetime opportunity with almost all of us there.
