Butch has now gone to live with a great family in the Huon Valley and is loving his new life.
Butch was picked up by one of the Hobart Councils in September 2008, with his owners unable to be contacted, and they did not come forward to claim him. Fortunately for Butch, they had not changed his micro chip registration details over to themselves when they purchased him back in 2005. The Dogs Home here in Hobart contacted me thinking I was his owner.
After a bit of explaining, and contacting the council to find out a bit more of the details pertaining to his pickup, the Dog Home agreed that if the owners did not come forward, and if Butch passed their temperament & aggression tests, then I would be able to apply for his release, once he was desexed & vaccinated. Butch passes their tests with flying colours.
Butch is a friendly and outgoing dog who has obviously had some time put into his training. He sits, drops, & rolls over on command, he also loves to play fetch with a soft (punctured) football! Just like his dad, Loki! He loves the company of other female dogs, but is not so keen on male dogs. He has been easy to manage here, has obviously been groomed regularly as he behaved himself nicely when I stripped him out and gave him a bath.
