I have been training showing breeding and loving Doberman pinchers for over twenty five years. I received my first dobie from my father when I was only twelve years old. I had been begging for a German Sheppard, but my father recalled a memory from his childhood in Brooklyn New York. He saw a small poodle running loose on the city streets, a dobie was chasing it, but as soon as the owner of the dobie was aware of what was happening, the owner called to his dog who came running back to him obediently! My father was so impressed with the dobie that he decided that a Doberman pincher was the dog that we should have.
That dog became my best friend. We bought a book in obedience training and enrolled in group obedience classes. I was only twelve, but had trained her to the high level of just using hand signals. I have never been with out a dobie since.
I do not breed litters very often because, I feel a deep responsibility to be a guardian of the breed and make sure every puppy that we have gets a great loving home forever. Quality, not quantity is what I believe in.
