17.11.07 Our matriarch Jody (aka Ch Shannongold Band of Hope) celebrated her 13th birthday today. A good age for a girl who was treated for cancer 7 years ago and has never looked back. A very special old girl who woke me early on her birthday sitting on me and hitting me with her paw. She must have known it was HER day as usually it's me who has to haul her out of bed. A day of treats and lots of cuddles and of bitter-sweet memories of her mother and her sister who have already gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

18.11.07 Out this weekend for the first time in over a year Caitlin (Ch Shannongold Irish Creme) showed them all how it's done by winning BOB then Reserve Best In Show and Veteran In Show at the Southern Gundog Society Open Show in an entry of 33 Golden Retrievers and 95 Gundogs.
