AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To establish a network of people involved or interested in Collies and Shelties so we can offer each other help and social interaction which is supported by a common interest.
To recognise the specific needs of owners and breeders of Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs and to encourage and support responsible ownership of these breeds.
To undertake annual programs in the following areas: Social events for owners and their dogs (e.g. "fun days")
General information - such as responsibilities of Collie and Sheltie ownership, breed information, local government regulations, behavioural queries, kennel management, show grooming and handling.
Continuing education - e.g. covering specific breed problems such as Collie Eye Anomaly, current developments in veterinary sciences etc.
Collie and Sheltie Rescue Program. (The rehoming and sometimes re-education of collies and shelties who have been placed in the Dog's Home, left at veterinarian clinics or whose current owners can no longer care for them.)
The club holds regular forums and meetings to facilitate the attainment of the above objectives.
A Help Hotline has been implemented to help members with any queries or problems.
A Club Newsletter, has been established to inform members about current issues and forthcoming events.
