Achievements:
Blade is shown above winning Best of Breed after having won Winner's Dog and Best of Winner's at the Lakeland Kennel Club show in Florida. Blade defeated 37 other goldens, including 4 Champions, which gave him his first Championship points. Feb 2009
The following weekend Blade also won Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite Sex over Champions at the Valdosta Kennel Club show. Feb 2009
A big thank you to Anney Doucette, Blade's wonderful handler and place of residence while he's away from home.
So far Blade has accumulated 11 points and needs four single points to attain his Championship title.
I am very excited and proud to have produced Blade and all that he represents. From the moment he was born I knew he was "the one"; out of a litter of 8, he was the pick of my litter. He showed promise then and has continued to improve and has been in the ribbons more times than not in his limited showing. I look forward to watching him mature and achieving more titles in various venues in the near future. He is a very fun dog to show and train and is a wonderful addition to my line.
His demeanor is mirrored from both of his parent's, Gunner and Morgan, and with his eagerness to please, he catches on quickly.
Blade's registered name, Top Hat's First Tour of Duty, is a tribute to my son who was serving in Iraq at the time Blade was born. The nickname of my son's unit was the "Bladerunner's" therefore, the significance of both names.
Blade's sire is my first champion and this is my first breeding using him for myself. I am very pleased with the many litter's he has produced thus far and I look forward to seeing his other kids mature.
Titles to date-Blade attained his CGC certificate in June and on July 27, 2008 he achieved his WC title at the Cuyahoga Valley Golden Retriever Club's test in Hambden, Ohio. Blade also qualified for a leg towards his Junior Hunter title at the Ft. Detroit Golden Retriever Club's hunt test on July 20, 2008. We are very proud of this boy and what he has accomplished so far. We have many more goals for him so stayed tuned for future news and updates.
