Puppies Resting from the 'Silver Brumby' litter

Typical Waikikamukau Puppies

Only a small kennel I first saw an 'Aussie' when I lived in the USA, I had married & spent 5 years in Ohio, before my divorce saw me come back to be near my family.

It was then I decided that I would look into getting myself one of these dogs, I wanted something that was active like me & to do things together, after months of searching I found a kennel, & was told that there would possibly be a puppy avaliable from their litter.

I was overjoyed to be told that there was a blue merle boy avaliable, so like most 'mothers' I went out & brought LOTS of new things, so when the time came I went to the airport here & picked up 'Scandal' & we started out doing puppy obedience classes, & the odd show, & just being a companion who went with me in the car, slept in the bedroom, & who still will sit by my feet most nights.

From there I have learnt & all my dogs have taught me valuable lessons.

My aim is to breed every 1-2 years not a big kennel alot of planing goes into my litters & I do have waiting lists, I beleive that the 'Aussie' should be able to do what it was bred for, & that without herding ability we will lose what this breed was originally bred for, I also hope to infuse older working lines into my breeding program at some stage, which is hard in Australia as there are not alot of working lines avaliable.

ALL my breeding dogs are DNA tested for genetic problems which are avaliable for this breed, as well as yearly eye checks from specilaists, & Hip/Elbow testing, health is VERY important to me & so is temprament.

From limited litters so far I have produced, champions, obedience dogs, herding dogs, & most importantly family dogs.

I am also an accredited ANKC Herding Judge & have judged both here in Tasmania as well as interstate.

I also have ponies, & have ridden since I was 9, I did want a pony at 5 but my parents told me Santa didn't have enough room in his sleigh.
I have ridden in Royal Shows, Dressage, Showjumping, Gymkhana's, ODE's, Harness, & Trail Riding.

I currently have 4 ponies- Emmy a Palomino Shetland Mare
Sally a palomino Shetland Mare in foal 2009
Cindy a Palomino/white Pinto Shetland filly
Blondie a Palomino Shetland Mare in foal 2009
Floppy Bumble 'Rita' Chestnut Thoroughbred Broodmare

I always welcome visitors but please phone first, or drop by when I am at a show to see the dogs.
