About Us
INTRODUCTION AND CODE OF ETHICS
We own and operate an all breed boarding, grooming kennel and also are breeders of Registered Golden Retrievers..
Our kennel Name is GARIWYN, it's registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, it is also licenced and zoned by the Township Of Tiny.
We are members of the Golden Retriever Breeders Association Of Ontario, and the Golden Retriever Club Of America, and follow their respective Codes Of Ethics.
CODE OF ETHICS
Gariwyn Reg'd complies with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the Canadian Kennel club and meets the requirements of the Animal Pedigree Act.
Our dogs are fed premium dog food, housed in the house/heated kennel, and receive optimum veterinary care. Our dogs do not run at large and are double fenced.
Only animals which are screened and have health clearances for hips, elbows, eyes, and hearts as a minimum are used for breeding. We breed only mature bitches between two and three years of age for their first breeding, and only when we desire a puppy for ourselves. Usually our bitches only have a single litter per year and are retired between ages six and seven. Retired bitches are available for adoption to a loving home and family after being spayed.
All puppies from Gariwyn Kennels Reg'd are sold on Canadian Kennel Club Non-Breeding Agreement. Said Non-Breeding Agreement will be lifted without charge for those animals which are breeding quality, have all clearances, and have achieved a title in Conformation, Obedience, or Field endeavours.
Stud service is only available to bitches who meet the same criteria as our own bitches in regard to clearances and breed quality.
Puppies leave to their adopting homes between 8&9 weeks of age. All puppies are Registered with the Canadian Kennel club (papers with clients names and Registered name of puppy to follow within 6 months). The litter registration is available for clients to view.
All puppies are identified by tattoo before puppy leaves to it's adopting home. All puppies receive their first vaccinations, a health certificate from the Chidiac Vet Hospital, and have been de-wormed at least twice before leaving.
We will not provide puppies to Pet Stores, Brokers, Auctions, Raffles, Prizes Etc. Our adoption process is a detailed and involved procedure.
Each puppy is sold on a legal contract stating warranties and expectations of the client. In our contract a puppy which cannot be kept by the client is to be returned to Gariwyn Kennels Reg'd for new placement. No Gariwyn puppy is to be taken to the pound or shelter. Our Stud dog contract is also specific in these areas.
You, our client and puppy adopter will receive a 50 page + package with much reading material, training tips, and dog psychology included. Most questions can be answered with the reading material but we are always only a phone call or e-mail away. If at any time problems develop with your puppy, wether health, training, or queries in general give us a call. Of course we love to receive pictures, notes, brags, and visits too.
