Welcome to Wilrock Miniature Pinschers.
My interest in Minpins came about while looking for a breed of dog that would fill my needs for a show breed. I had very specific requirements. My back would not allow me to bend over a bath tub so it had to fit in the kitchen sink. I could no longer run around the show ring so a breed that could be exhibited while at a walk was required. Past pets had included Afghan Hounds and Lhasa Apsos but now I wanted minimal grooming. I wanted a happy face and disposition that would make me smile when I got up each day.
I went to some shows and when I saw the beautiful Minpin with it's elegant hackney like movement, I was smitten.
My first Minpin came from Carole Rerko of the well known Wannabee Miniature Pinschers in Ohio. Wannabee Cuddle Up 'N Smooch "Smoochie" is the Boss at home. She is very good at keeping us all in line. Her joy of life and crazy personality keep us laughing and glad she is an important part of our lives.
Luis and Linda Colart of Lulin Miniature Pinschers in Florida sent us the boy who was to become our first Champion. Ch. Lulin Unbridled American (Ricky) is a delight to live with. Linda mentored me through my ups and downs of learning what it is to show Minpins. She was and continues to be a great friend and lovely lady.
If there is one thing I would stress to any new show person it is to join your local Breed Club. I am a proud member of the MPCNC which is the Miniature Pinscher Club of Northern California. "Newbees" need all the help and support they can get and a local club will have so much information and, if you're lucky like I am, supportive and helpful people who love your breed.
