Welcome to Lizmain
Welcome to our Website. Bill and I began exhibiting and breeding Dobermanns some 40 years ago. The passion we have for this wonderful Breed is unsurpassed with our aim being to produce Dobermanns of excellent type and soundness.
Lizmain Kennels have produced many Champions and Obedience titled dogs during this time.
Our lines are predominently American due to the importation of semen and dogs. Together with our good friends, Jenny and Rick Conradi of "Mistev Dobermanns", we made many trips to America to view their top producing Dobermanns first hand.
We all decided to import semen from two top winning and producing Dobermanns in the US at the time. The first was American Champion Electra's Chubasco, a son of one of America's top producing dogs, Am Mex Champion Electra's The Wind Walker.
The most memorable Dobe we produced from "Chubasco" was
Aust Champion Lizmain Thunder Storm (AI) WAC.
"Storm" went on to produce many Champions and his progeny is spread throughout Australia and overseas.
A few years later, we saw another amazing example of the Breed, Am Champion Chehalem's Rising Sun Winzlot, "Luke".
Soon after we imported his semen.
We then decided to import a bitch to complement our males and stored semen.
After seeing Am Champion Array's Moonstruck CD, we contacted his owner, Cindy Adams of "Oaknol Dobermans".
Cindy kindly allowed us to import a bitch, Oaknol's Cinderella V Lizmain (Imp USA). "Cindy" was line bred to "Moonstruck".

Bill and I then imported a dog from Martyn and Lisa Slade (NZ),
NZ Ch Cambria's Phantom V Carlon (Imp USA).
Jo Schrader joined us several years ago by first assisting Anthony, our eldest son, in the show ring, when Anthony decided to retire from dogs approx 4 years ago, Jo became our main handler and together we decide the future of Lizmain Kennels' breeding programme.
Our other great friends and handlers are, Debra Armstrong who owns "Vegas" and handles two of our young stars, "Mr T" and "Sierra". Jane Groves has "Holly" and Julie Aspinall owns and handles our latest NZ import, "Harley".
Their devotion and assistance with our dogs is greatly appreciated.
