My first job was working at a boarding kennel. The kennel just happened to breed golden retrievers.............. so it was inevitable that I would get a golden! My first golden was Gale, She was a high school graduation gift from the owners of the kennel, Bill and Jeanette Bedingfield. Gale went on to become Can CH, Can OTCH Eastgates Golden Night N Gale, Am/Can UD. I can thank them enough for a great start to this wonderful breed.

My next golden also came from Eastgate Kennels, Sere, Eastgates Golden Serenade Am/Can CD.

Both Gale and Sere turned out to be dysplastic, so they were never bred. That actually was the best start I could have had. I did not jump right into breeding, I took my time, learning about goldens and training my dogs.

My next golden was Ryan, Am/Can/Mex/Dom/So Amer/Int CH,U-UD Beckwiths Main Event Am/Can UDT, Dom UD, Mex PC, WCX, JH,SD, he was truly an incredible dog, and introduced me to all that a golden can do.

Right after Ryan came Rosie, Can/Mex/Dom, So Amer/Int CH U-UD Kierra's Cracklin Rosie Am/Can UD, WCX,JH, Mex PC, Dom CD, SD. Rosie was cute and she knew it, I loved my "Rosie Child"!

I breed 1 or 2 litters of goldens a year. Health and temperament are very important to me. I want to breed as healthy a dog as possible All of the goldens that I breed have hip, eye, heart and elbow clearances.

I also have the occasional litter of pugs. Health and temperament are also very important to me when breeding pugs. All pugs are of sound temperament and structure.

As I feel it is very important to meet prospective buyers in person, I do not take deposits or reservations until I have met you.

To be considered for a pug puppy (less than 6 mo old), the youngest child in the family must be at least 10 years old. Pugs are very sturdy little dogs and are great with children, but for the safety and protection of the puppy, I have set a minimum age of 10 years old, I think pug puppies are just too small to be with children under 10.

I do not ship my puppies.

For the health and safety of the puppy, spay/neuter is required, as is a fenced yard and the dog must live in the house as a member of the family.

Puppies will have been wormed multiple times, goldens will have one shot, pugs will have had 2 shots. All puppies are micro chipped and checked by my vet. A full information packet with lots of educational articles goes home with the puppy.

Puppies are handled daily from birth and will be very well socialized. This is one of the methods used to socialize the puppies http://www.breedingbetterdogs.com/achiever.html (see links page)

Pictures and videos are sent weekly once the puppies are born. Puppy visits start at 4 weeks of age and people are allowed to come every weekend to visit until the puppies go home.

In order to get to know the buyer and find out what they are looking for in a dog, I require that you make the time to come several times to visit the puppies. I try to be as accommodating as possible for visitations, but, if you are unable to or do not wish to come and visit prior to the puppy going home, I will not sell you a puppy.

It is very important to me to match the right puppy to the right home.

Pug puppies will be ready to go to new homes when they are 10 weeks old and not before.

Golden puppies will be ready to go to new homes at 8 weeks of age.

I have been showing goldens for almost 30 years, breeding for 14. I am a past president and current board member and long time member of the EGRC and the Golden Retriever Club of America. I am also a member in good standing of the Pug Dog Club of America and the Puget Sound Pug dog Club. I have had pugs for almost 8 years now.

I have earned titles on dogs in all areas of competition, field, obedience, agility, tracking and conformation and have also produced dogs with titles in all those areas as well as many wonderful pets.

My own dogs are house dogs and sleep on my bed, which is why it is important to me that the puppies I sell are also house dogs and members of the family.

I want my dogs to go to the best possible homes, so getting to know a prospective buyer is very important. I feel it is very important to for a buyer to be as comfortable with me, as a breeder, as I am with them as a home for a puppy that I breed.

Producing healthy puppies with excellent temperaments is my primary concern as a breeder.
