Santamaria was established in 1965.
Santamaria was passed to Shirley & Dianne Lee many years ago. Santamaria has been responsible for the deliverance of some of Australia's, New Zealand's and America's top dogs.
I was introduced to the dog world at a very young age and have been showing since the age of 6. For the past 20 years l have been the sole owner of Santamaria when my parents decided to retire.
Santamaria has produced over 80 show & Obedience champions & is responsible for 5 American & Canadian Champions.
We have imported & exported Golden?s to many parts of the world including New Zealand.
We have imported 3 Nortonwood bred dogs from England.
Santamaria had at one stage for two years the lovely Australian & New Zealand Champion. Leacroft Logan which l handled to his Australian Championship and many awards whilst in Australia.
I was very lucky to have professionally handled whilst in America of where l made ever lasting friendships of which l still stay in touch today. l exhibit enthusiastically with my Goldens all over Australia but my home is Victoria.
I have been a Gundog judge for 16 years and am also a ANKC licensed judge for groups 7, 2, 4, & 6. I am usually very busy with judging commitments with all these groups.I have judged all over Australia and have judged the Golden Specialty Show in Hobart and Wellington. l am a past President of the GRCV.
I take my judging very seriously and am extremely enthusiastic with my beloved Goldens.
I have 3 children. My son is an excellent handler. I am sure he will follow in my footsteps, which will make a third generation within the dog world.
All stock at Santamaria is eye, AVA hip scored & heart tested and all hold certificates for these.
We breed with one thing in mind. To breed the best to the best. We aim to produce sound goldens of which can be used for showing, obedience, field work, pet, pets as therapy. Currently Santamaria goldens are used as part of the Pets as therapy program at local hospitals and noted as one of Victoria's top kennel and noted throughout Australia for unique quality.

We have gained Australian Championships and campaigned many dogs we have bred. Those who note themselves of owning a Santamaria dog always keep coming back for more.
We are members of the VCA, Central Golden Retriever Club of New Zealand, past office bearers of many clubs in Victoria.
